If life give you lemons, make lemonade

As previously “blogged,” living conditions for the residents is getting worse every week. I cannot confirm that the meals have made me sick, but I have been “so sick,” I spend my days sitting in my recliner. True, limited genealogy. Gratefully, my mind is active. I’m planning for the end of October. “No,” I won’t be wearing my Witch costume. (One real, alive Witch–in this building–is one too many.)

From the back of my closet, I retrieved the lion costume. I plan to use it for a “Care Bear” costume. The “Care Bear” theme is so positive and “we” (the residents) need a lot of “positive.” Obviously, that plain brown costume needs enhancement! Despite my pain, I spent time doing Google searches for “Care Bear” clothing. There are so many attractive items. I was captivated by one particular T-shirt, but for some unknown reason, I could not complete the online order. The men’s “Hawaiian” shirt was eventually selected and will be the perfect complement for the costume. (Click the images to enlarge them for better viewing.)

On two recent shopping trips, I purchased candy, and other goodies, for treats. Little snack boxes of raisins, individual packages of microwave popcorn, and prepackaged assorted candy. Later this month, I will carefully (sanitarily) insert a wide variety of candy into small ziplock plastic bags. There is traditional “candy corn” and “marshmallow pumpkins,” stc.

“Caring is sharing,” and it will require the wagon to transport the treats. Remember the wagon load of goodies at Easter?

4:00 PM: I got started and didn’t know when to stop. (1) Wagon, front and center, (2) Beverage containers, (3) “double-checking” for suitable items to share with fellow residents. (4) Just don’t quit.

  1. I think if you put a big white circle with a red heart on the front of the lion costume it would look like Care Bear. Or maybe use some poster board and put it around the shower stool, with the care bear hearts on either side or something.
