I enjoyed an unexpected gift. At breakfast, I learned of a “survey” offered to the residents about our experience at Asher Point. I spent two-and-one-half hours completing the survey (on the tablet of the Activity Director because I’m ill-informed about “doing” on my cell phone). Honestly, I wrote “a book” of details. We had the added benefit of writing additional information after clicking a button listing (from seven choices) “highly dissatisfied” to “highly satisfied.” I didn’t mince words; I didn’t exaggerate; I told it “like it is.” Included in “the book,” my observation that my statements will unquestionably lead to my eviction. Even with that in my future, it is a “terrific Thursday.” Hopefully, my narrative will lead to an improvement in the quality of life for the residents at this retirement facility. Many residents observed the extended duration of my endeavor and questioned why I was taking “so long.” My honest reply: “I’m writing a book.” Perhaps I inspired folks to, likewise, voice their dissatisfaction?
