T-day

Telling the Truth: Tedious, Tiring, Tough, Terrible, etc. It started when I got the TRASH out of the waste basket in the laundry room (to accompany my small bag of trash destined for the dumpster). The sign I prepared a couple of weeks ago about a malfunctioning washing machine was in the trash. So, after breakfast, I spent an hour watching the (empty) machine go through the entire cycle. Our maintenance man had not corrected the problem!

Pictures, on Tuesday, with details. Click on each picture to enlarge and read the comments. Regrettably, I can’t identify this as a Terrific Tuesday. I reported the problem AGAIN to management. I know, with certainty, that other residents have reported the washing machine problems to management. The owners of this retirement home hire contractors to do a “remodel” on each apartment when a resident moves. The upgraded apartment has a large refrigerator-freezer, two-burner built-in-the-counter cook unit, and large kitchen sink. “They” spend money on these features and let trees die in the yard. “They” spend money on inaccurate Internet advertising but fail to hire new employees after beloved staff members were fired without cause. Several months have gone by without a bus driver. The kitchen is short of staff; the dining room has too few servers, and (to my knowledge, this date) the second and third floors do not have housekeepers. My/our third floor has been without housekeeping for a month. Final word: TRAGIC.
