HEART IN MY THROAT

At 2:20 PM, a Staff member knocked on my door. She handed me a sealed envelope. My immediate thought: A letter telling me to move. Actually, it advises me of the increase in my rent (June first) as I enter the third year of residency. Truth be told, I didn’t “move in” until June 14th, but, of course, I was charged for the entire month. I have to shout “Hallelujah”  because only $124.00 increase. One resident who complained experienced $800.00 per month increase (and management says “Because we can.” )

Lorraine dodged a bullet this time.
