Two days and “no climbing trees.” No Ancestry/ancestry. Today I worked on two projects relating to activities at our retirement home. Two or three times a month, our bus driver gives us a tour around the city of Waco. Sadly, only two or three of us are participating. It is my goal to do some advertising in an effort to get more participants. It took several hours to hang the pictures on a necklace and create the display. I will be a walking and talking billboard. Why did it take so long? I knew I should reinforce the holes on the page protectors. Then (perfectionist that I am) I had to get the pages appropriately positioned. Fuzzy picture because my old camera is tired of taking pictures of Lorraine having another “Senior moment.”
The second “project” started as a middle-of-the-night inspiration. I’m a believer that we need to “Make America Great Again.” Honesty, I believe we need to “Make Jesus Great Again.” I recently saw the pink cowboy hats at Dollar General but (at that time) told myself (with twenty–seven hats) that I didn’t need another one. But my “inspiration” said the pink cowboy hat would attract attention. My original plan: The words on a band around the hat’s crown. I experimented… with a “draft’ paper band and saw that the message was hidden by the curved brim of the hat. Going in another direction was very challenging! How would I attach the attractive “pink party paper plate” to the plastic hat? One by one, I gathered “possibilities” and eventually arrived at the finished product that I believe will remain secure. ~~ Help me start a movement with believers wearing hats that say “Make Jesus Great Again.”
Why… that particular title for this blog message? Things are so “sour” around here, Jesus is our hope and my joy so (hopefully) I’m making things more palatable for the residents. They don’t know it yet, but my planned “Easter basket” of candy has grown to the point where it will be a wagonload of candy!
