An update

In addition to cell phone frustrations, I’ve recently experienced computer problems.  OMG, will the frustration never end? Well, I “toughed it out”  and got back to research and documentation on Ancestry.

So much information; no end in sight. I’ve (figuratively speaking) been glued to the computer. A cousin sends obituaries of “dearly departed” Brethren and Mennonite individuals (my extended family). In some cases, when I couldn’t locate supporting ancestor information, I did an AI search. A cousin introduced me to PERPLEXITY Artificial Intelligence. Regarding genealogy, AI is remarkable. Frankly, it is “remarkable” the amount of information found and documented (by AI) in less than ten minutes. Sometimes I spent many hours doing “Armchair Research” with limited success. This is a new tool in my toolbox.

One genealogy “cousin” recently documented Amelia Earhartand shared the information with me. That was interesting and educational. Amelia is another of my famous cousins. I have Elon Musk, Sully Sullenberger, Lillian Gish, Jill Eikenberry, Annie Oakley, and Levi Coffin. An infamous cousin is Stephen Paddock who did mass killings from a Las Vegas hotel room.

When I’m not documenting obituaries or other information, I work on information on scraps of paper with notes telling me I need to return to “so-and-so” and “clean up messes.”  Remember (?), I frequently identify myself as “Just a janitor, cleaning up messes.”  Why do I  spend so much time “glued to the computer” and “climbing the family tree”? Without immediate family and few friends, “ancestry” is my happiness and my medicine.
