Facing the future

My doctor regularly compliments me for being “in remarkable health for someone your age.”  I’m being realistic when I look at the numbers. Furthermore, every day, (perhaps exaggerated?), I see dozens of seniors with major health problems. It’s a constant reminder that a stroke or heart attack might have Lorraine’s name written on it. Recently, I had the traumatic experience of finding one of the residents had fallen (at the door of her apartment) and could not get up. Adrenalin kicked in and I ran to the common area to report the incident. The paramedics arrived and my lady–friend went to the hospital. ~~ This interesting thought and song came to mind: “The chimes of time ring out the news…“
