The Amish Vote
Armed raids by power-mad bureaucrats may have played a bigger role in Trump’s win than we knew. Many of us were outraged by the raids on Mar-A-Lago and various Trump officials, by the raids on peaceful pro-life protesters, and by the raid on P’nuts Freedom House animal rescue.
But did you know that the main reason the Amish broke precedent and voted in huge numbers in Pennsylvania is that an Amish town was the victim of a heavy-handed raid by government agents because a local farm was selling unpasteurized milk – you know, like they were AMISH or something! That just might have helped throw that key swing state, and the election, to Trump. [Bold emphasis and underline by Lorraine Frantz.]
So when I see stories like this, that FBI employees are “shocked” by Trump’s victory and “terrified” that there will be a “bloodbath” (yes, that word again) of firings – that he’s “going to smash the place to pieces” – I have a hard time working up a lot of sympathy.
I’ll just tell them what Democrats told American citizens who protested government surveillance of their private communications: “Hey, if you haven’t done anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about, do you?”
