At noon, the residents were ordered from the places where we were sitting—for lunch—to corridors at the center of the building. The alarms had sounded in the city and on TV and cell phones—a tornado alert. Too bad I didn’t have my camera!! A curious sight to see everyone sitting in a dining chair, or their walker, along the walls of the corridors (a safe distance from the windows). Finally, we were allowed to return to the dining room and enjoy our lunch. Five years and four months in Waco and this was my first “tornado alert.” Actually, the first time in eighty-nine years and two months…
After lunch, I went to my KIA for another load of items from yesterday’s purchases. We had not had a single drop of rain!! The driveway was dry!!
