Your old lady “blogger” is getting so excited as she looks forward to her visit to Homestead Heritage. Ten years in Texas put physical distance between Lorraine and her Anabaptist cousins. For many years, there was travel to Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Virginia for church conferences, reunions, and research in libraries, courthouses, and cemeteries. My ancestors—and their descendants—plowed the fields, milked the cows, and prepared food “the old-fashioned way.” ~~ An agrarian community in my adopted hometown–in 2023.
